These terms cover the Compare Snow iOS app and this website.

Using the service
Compare Snow is free to use. There is no account, no subscription and no purchase inside the app. You may use it for your own trip planning, personal or commercial.
What the rankings are — and are not
The scores are a comparison aid, not advice. They combine live forecast data with the weights you choose, so two people looking at the same mountain on the same day can legitimately see different rankings. A high score is not a recommendation to travel, and it says nothing about whether conditions are safe.
Nothing here is a substitute for the resort’s own information. Lift status, avalanche risk, road conditions, closures and safety notices come from the resort and the local authorities. Check them before you travel and before you ski.
Accuracy
Snow and weather come from Open-Meteo and are modelled forecasts, not measurements taken at the mountain — a forecast snow base can differ from what is actually underfoot. Prices, elevations, pass coverage and lodging figures are estimates gathered for comparison; they change, and they are not bookable quotes. Confirm with the resort or hotel before committing money.
The service is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss arising from reliance on the data — including travel booked, money spent, or trips that did not deliver the conditions you hoped for.
Affiliate links
Some accommodation links are affiliate links, and a booking made through one may earn us a commission at no extra cost to you. This never affects the rankings: no resort or hotel can pay for position. See the Privacy Policy for what those links set in your browser.
Acceptable use
Please do not attempt to disrupt the service, scrape it in a way that degrades it for other people, or redistribute the dataset wholesale as your own product. The underlying weather data belongs to Open-Meteo under its own terms.
Changes
These terms may change; the date above changes with them. Continuing to use the app or site after a change means you accept the revised terms.
